Valencia James showcases “Ebb and Flow”
Valencia James returns with her brand new single “Ebb and Flow” fresh off her debut EP “Light and Shade”. A song glittered with edgy synths and energetic vocals, it’s about how we ride out the waves of life. Valencia explains, “No matter what, I’m going to live and take risks for a better future rather than playing it safe. Life is always going to throw you curveballs, but it’s all about how you handle them and keep moving forward”.
Hailing from Sydney, Australia by way of New York, USA – Valencia James offers a brand of dark-pop for those in need. No stranger to the dualities that life presents us every day, “Light and Shade” is the debut EP from the songstress, featuring songs that arise from that tension between. Inspired by real situations dealing with broken relationships and self-realisation, the EP includes previous singles “Flames”, “Dreamers“, and “Need”, plus the brand new “Ebb and Flow” and “World We Lost”.
Edgy synthscapes, dreamy vocals, and sleek production are hallmarks of the EP as she bares her heart in music. Her hope is that listeners everywhere will experience that silver lining amidst the clouds, and learn that there is always something to be gained in the darkest of places. Having featured prominently on Earmilk, Idobi Radio and Variance magazine, her debut EP “Light and Shade” shows bright promise of the year ahead for Valencia. It is mixed and mastered by Ben Whincop and Leon Zervos respectively – their combined credits include Stan Walker, Maroon 5, Rihanna, and Troye Sivan.
