Emilio Lanza says “It Wasn’t True”
Emilio Lanza is a singer/songwriter from Italy. He plays acoustic guitar and works with producer Stefano Formato a.k.a. 4mat0. His new single, “It Wasn’t True”, was recorded in his local studio in Naples, and produced by 4mat0. The song is a beautiful catchy 2020 pop song with 80s vibe in the chorus, and late 90s/early2000 influences and touching romantic lyrics created on steel-string acoustic guitar.
The song tells the story of a 24h heartbreak. It has an expressive melody, at the same time fluid and uplifting, somehow evocative of a summer’s day. The song was produced remotely during the Quarantine. Emilio’s first original single, “Australia”, reached 1 million Spotify streams and landed onto an official Editorial Spotify Playlist. Emilio is the first recommended Premium Provider on SoundBetter by Spotify for Artists, in the Acoustic Guitar category. Emilio started learning the piano when he was ten years old, and did that for just two years. Then, in 2004, when he was 16, he tried the electric guitar of a friend and that was it!
He fell in love with the guitar, so he took a few Jazz Guitar lessons. After a while, he started uploading a few video covers, so he could see and listen to himself from the outside. He has opened an acoustic fingerstyle gig in Florence for the USA Guitarist/Teacher Adam Rafferty and appeared onthe biggest national radio RDS to perform during a format called “Il Fenomeno/The Phenomenon”, performing live some Acoustic Percussive Fingerstyle guitar songs. “It Wasn’t True” follows on from his earlier 2019 singles, “First Step”, “We’ll Make It Alright” and “Something Better”.
