Every UK number one single from 1991 in a playlist!
Queen dominated 1991 with an original number one to start the year and a classic that finished the year, which was also the Christmas number one. These really were the days of their lives.
Chesney Hawkes was the one and only for five weeks on top in the Spring, as was Cher, shoop shooping away straight after with another five week chart topper.
The KLF had a great 1991 with “Last Train To Transcentral” and a Christmas collaboration with Country singer Tammy Wynette. But it was “3am Eternal” that went the whole distance in the early months.
Bart Simpson, Color Me Badd and Michael Jackson were the Americans who went to number one here in the UK in 1991, while British heavy metal band, Iron Maiden, scored their very first UK number one single.
And the biggest seller of 1991…who could forget Mr. Bryan Adams, on top for SIXTEEN whole weeks from Summer right through till Winter time, and he did all for you, again and again!
