Scottish group Altered Images were an early 80’s success story that didn’t last as long as they had hoped. But 39 years since they released their last album, lead singer Clare Grogan and musician Steve Lironi have revived the name and are about to make their long awaited return with a new long player!
“Mascara Streakz” will be the fourth album released by the group, who originally counted among their number Johnny McElhone, who would later found the band Texas. The title track has already been released along with a video with Grogan and Lironi embarking on a number of live shows this Summer across the UK.
Altered Images formed in 1979 and scored their first hit two years later with the annual favourite “Happy Birthday” (UK No.2). They achieved two further top ten hits with “I Could Be Happy” and “Don’t Talk To Me About Love” in 1983 as well as two Silver certified albums. Shortly after releasing “Change Of Heart” in late 83, they disbanded although Clare has made numerous appearances at 80’s revival festivals.
