Do you really need to be told who Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott are?! Paul was one quarter of The Housemartins who along with Dave Hemingway formed The Beautiful South and they were joined in 1994 by Jacqui as lead singer on such hits as “Everybody’s Talkin’“, “Perfect 10”, “Rotterdam” and “Don’t Marry Her” to name but a few.
The Beautiful South called it a day in 2007 after twenty eight years of non-stop hits and multi-Platinum albums. Since then Paul has released a number of solo albums and since 2014, he and Jacqui have formed a double act and released four more. Their fifth, “N.K-Pop”, was released at the beginning of October 2022 and includes the ‘earworm’ “Too Much For One (Not Enough For Two)”.
It is classic Heaton harmonies and rhythms, just as you would expect after 40 years in the business. The album also features the lead single “Still” and went to number one upon release, their second album together to do so. How Beautiful is that!
