20 years on from the release of her smash hit album, “Stripped”, Christina Aguilera has recorded a new version AND a new video for the second single from that album, “Beautiful”, as she prepares to release an anniversary deluxe version of the album.
“Beautiful (2022 Version)” explores the song’s message of self-acceptance, self-esteem and personal empowerment through vignettes of modern young people in a provocative visual critique of contemporary culture both online and in real life. The themes of “Beautiful” reverberate in the World Health Organisation’s World Mental Health Day 2022, which aims to ‘make mental health and well-being for all a global priority’.
“Beautiful” was released in November 2002 and went to No.1 in the UK and No.2 in America, selling over five million copies worldwide. The album “Stripped” went on to shift over twelve million copies globally, five million coming from her home country and over two million from the UK.
