Did you know that Patricia Cole has been a successful singer since the 1960’s? You may know her better as P.P. Arnold. Although an American by heart, she has achieved her biggest hits and sales in the UK, beginning with her debut single “The First Cut Is The Deepest” in 1965, which was later covered by Sheryl Crow.
P.P. was back in the charts in 1988 with producers the Beatmasters on their dance/club anthem “Burn It Up” and again in 1992 with Altern-8 on their top ten hit “Evapor-8”. P.P. scored another big hit in the UK in 1998 with Ocean Colour Scene as guest vocalist on “It’s A Beautiful Thing”.
She still performs regularly in the UK and has just released a brand new single for Christmas, “It Won’t Be Christmas Without You”, amazingly, her very first festive recording in 57 years! Known as the first lady of Soul, P.P. has recently completed work on her autobiography, Soul Survivor.
