Debbie Gibson says “Love Don’t Care”
Pop
Late 80’s teen hitmaker Debbie Gibson has released another track from her 2021 album “The Body Remembers”. “Love Don’t Care” is the fifth to be lifted from her Pop music comeback.
The track is a Pop-Disco tinged tune that was written by Debbie along with Lars Havor Nelson and Tracy Young, who also produced it with Sean Thomas. Debbie has filmed a video to go with the track too!
“The Body Remembers” saw Debbie return to the studio with a Pop album that was her first in over a decade and includes the lead single “Girls Night Out” and the re-recorded duet version of her 1989 number one hit “Lost In Your Eyes” with New Kid On The Block Joey McIntyre. Debbie has mixed up the singles from this album with her first Christmas release, “Winterlicious”, which came out late last October, and features a mix of new songs with Debbie’s take on some old classics.
2023 is the 35th anniversary of Debbie’s first US chart topper, “Foolish Beat”, which at the time was the first to be written, produced and performed by the youngest person to achieve a number one on the singles chart. The track came from her debut album “Out Of The Blue” and peaked at No.9 in the UK in April-May 1988.
Also in 2023, Debbie has competed in the US series of The Masked Singer using the character name of ‘Night Owl’. Debbie was voted off on round nine when the theme was ABBA night, Debbie sang “Fernando”, but lost the heat to ‘Medusa’ as they both performed “The Winner Takes It All”. ‘Medusa’ was later revealed to be British singer Bishop Briggs, who went on to win the 2023 series with “Welcome To The Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance.
