Barny Fletcher releases a “Masterpiece”
Funk-Pop
London-based singer Barny Fletcher has released a new single titled “Masterpiece”. The track is the latest from Barny’s forthcoming debut album, “Lonestar”, due out 25th August.
A groovy Funk track laced with Disco flourishes and driving percussion, “Masterpiece” further amplifies the artist’s unbounded stylistic dexterity as he moves ever higher up the chain.
Today’s release comes on the heels of last month’s kick-off single “WOO!” Rooted in themes of young love and self-discovery, Barny’s forthcoming album boasts a collection of songs written against the backdrop of a road trip to California, each song revealing a bit more of Barny’s journey while continuing to spotlight Barny’s magnetic energy and charisma that have defined his artistry since Day one.
Since his debut in 2019 with “Christ Flow”, Barny Fletcher has seen widespread praise including support from BBC’s Radio 1 and Australia’s Triple J, as well as features including a collaboration with DJ Shadow, a Euro 2020 fashion design campaign with Umbro, and an inclusion on the soundtrack for Michaela Coel’s HBO series I May Destroy You.
Growing up in a small Somerset village to a photographer father, filmmaker mother, and very little else to occupy his hyperactive nature other than an eclectic record collection, Barny delved into the catalogs of artists such as The Kinks, Eminem, Bob Dylan and Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, a chaotic fusion that still influences him today. Getting his start uploading weekly tracks to SoundCloud, Barny’s sound has evolved into a kaleidoscopic mix of hip-hop, R&B, Pop and Disco, alongside a distinct lyrical take on the absurdity of the everyday.
