Blusher ask “Should We Go Dance?”
Pop
Australian girl group Blusher have just released their debut EP, “Should We Go Dance?”, the culmination of a year’s hard work and five cracking singles.
Here’s to the soundtrack of your night out! Blusher have created a sparkly, energetic pop collection that began with the lead single “Softly Spoken” in 2022.
Blusher also share the video to their latest single, “Limelight”. The track follows previous singles “Dead End” – which documents a night out, charged by a fast-paced techno composition, and “Backbone” – which delves into the aftermath of a breakup.
In Blusher’s metaphorical teen rom-com of a band, all three members – Miranda Ward, Lauren Coutts and Jade Ingvarson-Favretto – are the leads. They share vocals on many of their songs and swap instruments during the live shows. They all produce and write together, utilising their individual experiences cutting their teeth as solo artists before forming the band.
The EP is the product of the band’s hard work and determination, but moreover their friendship. Over the course of a year the trio have mastered the escapism that manifests from letting everything go on the dancefloor. Inspired by the same nostalgic deep cuts by Robyn, Kesha, LCD Soundsystem and MGMT, and their love of hard-hitting dance-pop, sparkly synths and drum machines, the girls hope this EP could become the soundtrack to someone’s restless nights. See for yourself…
