THEN & NOW: Cyndi Wilson

Cyndi Wilson, one of the four main members of The B-52’s, has released a brand new album, “Realms”, her first fresh solo material for six years. The album is headed by the fantasic single “Midnight”, which blends late 70’s Disco with early 80’s electro sounds to create something out of this world.

It was in 1979 that Cyndi, Kate, Keith and Fred turned up with their joyful ode “Rock Lobster”, while their biggest and best known song, “Love Shack”, would land in 1989 and 1990, depending on which country you live. The B-52’s went back to prehistoric times in 1994 when they became The BC-52’s for their version of “Meet The Flintstones” from the live action film.

Since the band last recorded material in 2008, Cyndi has released two EP’s and her first solo album proper, “Change”, in 2017. The B-52’s have, however, continued to tour, although their latest is slated to be their ‘final farewell’ tour. The group have been on the road since 2022 with KC and The Sunshine Band.
