Samira raises the temperature with “Toxic”!
Pop-Dance
Rising British singer Samira, who we featured with her debut single “Like This, Like That“, is back with a shimmering new bop, “Toxic”.
Much like her previous single “Envy Me”, “Toxic” centres around the push and pull of an emotionally abusive relationship, inspired by Samira’s experiences.
The confessional lyrics of the song, paired with an irresistible strutting club beat, is shaping up to be Samira’s wheelhouse. “Toxic” – her fourth solo single to date – is co-written by Samira with Kal Lavelle, Tancrede Rouff and Theo Douke.
Samira is rapidly carving a lane of her own to become Britain’s new Princess of Pop. Earlier this year, the South London independent singer-songwriter launched her edgy debut “Like This, Like That”. She followed it up with her irresistible, sassy banger “That’s Not What My Friends Say”, which was played on Love Island and became her third single to peak in the UK top 5 Club chart. While Samira’s Summer sensation, “Envy Me” added another huge and well-played track to her growing collection.
Last year, Samira quietly eased her way into the music industry with the feel-good summer hit “I Love Your Smile“, a cover of Shanice’s 1992 global smash and a collaboration with dance collective W.D.C., which amassed over 7 million streams. The inescapable dance track spent 16 days on Spotify UK’s Daily Viral Chart.
Inspired by Black dance-pop queens who came before her like Rihanna, Janet Jackson and Kelly Rowland; Samira is a triple-threat entertainer to watch for. After years honing her craft in the studio and on stage at the West End; the singer-songwriter, dancer and actress will be stepping into the spotlight in a big way this year and will continue to do so into 2024 and beyond!
Stay in touch with Samira
