Paul Young

THEN & NOW: Paul Young

British singer/songwriter Paul Young releases his brand new single, “When The Stars Go Blue”, a wistful, Country tune that finds Paul in relaxed, mature mood, an artist at ease with himself and decades into his career, still clearly enjoying life and what he does.

“When The Stars Go Blue” is Paul’s first new recording since his 2020 single, “Make Someone Happy” and comes from a brand new album, “Behind The Lens”, Paul’s tenth overall since his multi-Platinum debut, “No Parlez”, in 1983. The album was released earlier this year and was itself Paul’s first since 2016’s “Good Thing”, which broke the UK album chart.

It was 40 years ago that Paul racked up three big hit singles around the world with “Love Of The Common People”, “Wherever I Lay My Hat” and “Come Back And Stay” and they kept coming throughout the 80’s with absolute classics like “Every Time You Go Away”. 30 years ago in 1993 Paul scored another UK top twenty hit with “Now I Know What Made Otis Blue”, which came after his triple-Platinum certified best of collection in 1991.
