Therése Neaimé returns with “Smooth Operator”
Dance-Pop
It’s been two years since we last featured Therése Neaimé, so we thought it was about time to catch up with her, and what better way than with her new single!
Therése has hooked up with artistic Swedish singer Raven Reii for a cover of Sade‘s “Smooth Operator”, bringing the song into the 21st century with a new twist.
At the age of 53, the artist and lecturer decided to have her fourth child and thus creates a debate about age being just a number, even for women. And that it’s fine, “nice to be in the middle of your career as a single mother with three children” she says proudly. Thanks to Therése’s decision, the international fertility clinic OLGA Clinic in Cyprus has now decided to change its previous age limit of 51 years to 53! Large!
“Smooth Operator” was a top five hit in America in 1984 and peaked at No.19 in the UK, becoming the second hit from the band’s debut album, “Diamond Life”. Raven Reii is arapper, singer and designer from Stockholm who made her debut in 2017 with “Lovely One and released the EP “Love To Hate You” in 2020. It was in 2020 that we first met Therése with her single “Dance Love” and later in 2021 with “Live Again“.
Some new mixes of “Dance Love” have been released this year by Thomas Deak and now a new mum, she’s ready to get back out there and re-energise her career. Having originally carved out a career as a dancer and then as a backing singer, before supporting the likes of Simply Red on tour, Therése is making plans to play live in Las Vegas and hopefully this will be completed in the next month with a few to this becoming a reality in 2024.
