Canadian artist Kylo has at last released her new, five-track EP, “Retrospect”, which we help launch with the superb single “Closer“, earlier this year. Known for her captivating and innovative Electro-Pop sound, Kylo explores emotion, heartache and the tender nostalgia of departing one’s twenties through this record.

With a mix of emotions and profound self-discovery, Kylo ponders the power of hindsight, the poignant experience of growing older and the overwhelming feeling of stagnancy during the 2020 pandemic with this collection, which features the singles “Rerun” and “Closer”.

Speaking about “Retrospect”, Kylo says “This EP is the embodiment of ‘Retrospect’. Being stuck still and hitting 30, I was unable to do anything but look back at what I have accomplished in my life, who I had been with, and past life experiences that led me to where I am today. Seeing it all come to fruition now makes me feel relieved and excited at the same time, making the good, bad, and ugly experiences totally worth it“.

“Retrospect” blends 80’s synthwave sounds with retro 80’s Electro-Pop vibes to deliver something that modern lovers will admire as well as an older pact that will appreciate the heritage of the production as a whole. Kylo has hooked up with actor and performer Shadrack Jackman for “Sunsets”, which has a haunting beauty about it, while the title track breezes in with a cool midnight air of lust about it. The EP adds to Toronto born Kylo’s already impressive collection that began in 2016 with “Fatal”. With “Retrospect”, she now enters her most exciting phase.
