OneRepublic write “Dear Santa…”

After another great year and with the prospect of a new album in 2024, OneRepublic are releasing their first, self-written Christmas song, “Dear Santa”!
The band had previously covered the festive classic “White Christmas” in 2018 and now they are adding “Dear Santa” to their collection hoping it could be a seasonal regular in years to come.
2023 has seen OneRepublic follow the massive success of “I Ain’t Worried” from the Top Gun ‘Maverick’ film with new track “Runaway” as the first taste of new material for what will be their sixth studio album and first since 2021’s “Human”. 2024 will be seventeen years since Ryan, Zach, Tim, Drew and Eddie released their mighty debut “Dreaming Out Loud”, which featured the global smash hit “Apologize” as well as the UK top five hit “Stop And Stare”.
With “I Ain’t Worried” putting the band back in the top ten around the world in 2022 for the first time in eight years and selling over a million copies on both sides of the Atlantic, the bar has once again been set high for their next album, which has been in production for more than a year now. OneRepublic have also contributed their first song to an arcade game with “Mirage” for the latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The track was recorded with Saudi Arabian singer Mishaal Tamer.
Currently, OneRepublic are on tour across the Middle East, taking in Dubai and India, having spent much of 2023 playing live in the UK and in their native homeland. “Dear Santa” has also been released on red vinyl as a limited edition 12″ pressing and the boys have also shot a video to accompany the song, out just in time for Christmas as well! The track, written by the band themselves, has a retro festive sound to it, and it has also been described as being “karaoke ready”! Get learning those lyrics then I say!
