Bananarama fly a “Supernova”
Pop
Bananarama release the second new single from their upcoming definitive greatest hits collection, “Glorious”. “Supernova” is another ‘glorious’ slice of Disco-Dance-Pop.
As Sara and Keren prepare to embark on a number of shows in the Spring centred around the release of the album in March, they deliver the follow up to “Feel The Love“.
Once again this is a retro sounding tune with an instant hook to it as the synths kick in and Bananarama do their thing, what they’ve been doing now for more than 40 years, just delighting everyone with a well-written and well executed Pop creation. With “Feel The Love” charting in the top 100 – the duo’s first since “Love Comes” in 2009 – Bananarama are really gearing up for a hugely successful release of what will be their fourth major best of since the million selling “Greatest Hits Collection” in 1988.
“Glorious: The Ultimate Collection” will span 42 years of hits from “It Ain’t What You Do…” with Fun Boy Three back at the beginning of 1982 through their Stock Aitken Waterman years, “Pop Life” and their big comeback in 2005 with “Move In My Direction” and the album “Drama”. The past twelve months have seen a number of key remixes and new versions of some old classics with “Cruel Summer“, “Venus” and “Robert De Niro’s Waiting” all geting a polish and shine, each offering a new perspective on what had gone before.
“Glorious: The Ultimate Collection” is released on 8th March with Sara and Keren playing a number of sold out dates the following month as the ladies continue the legacy of Bananarama well into its fifth decade, unparalleled by any all female group before or since, and with proprietorial confidence in their many thousands of fans who have supported them from those early days right upto this latest and electro-charged track. We call it superb!
