I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.
“Little Red Rooster” by The Rolling Stones was Number One on 5th December 1964 and stayed there for one week.
I guess there was always the competition between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones but as this song shows they have two completely different sounds and styles. The Beatles tended to write about love and happiness whereas The Rolling Stones sang about farmyard animals…can you tell which are my preference?
