Eurovision Song Contest 2015: Norway – “A Monster Like Me” By Mørland & Debrah Scarlettk

Eurovision 2015 is almost upon us and now that all the countries have chosen their singers and song let’s give them the once-over. The Norwegian song is called “A Monster Like Me” and is performed by Mørland & Debrah Scarlett. Kjetil Mørland has live in the UK most of his adult life and says he has been heavily influenced by the music scene and Debrah was another entrant in the country’s Voice competition on TV. The pair had never met until they worked on this song. I already know it’s a ballad, a dark ballad by all accounts but let’s see if it stands above the million other ballads this year. It’s certainly very theatrical and the pair remind me of younger and much better looking versions of Meatloaf and Celine Dion. As far as ballads go and performances this is definitely in the top 5.

Honey, I’m telling the truth I did something terrible in my early youth My mind went blank, I lost control I was just a little boy, I did not know I better let you go…

To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me Honey, what am I to you Now I have pulled the trigger on this awful truth Oh hold me now, cause I’m burning up Sing me something beautiful, just make it stop I better let you go… To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me
