I want to review every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process.
Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.
“Lily The Pink” by The Scaffold was Number One on 14th December 1968 and stayed there for three weeks. And was the Christmas number one of that year.
These guys were a comedy, poetry trio from Liverpool and it was probably the first novelty festive number one. All together now “and we’ll drink, drink, drink…”
