Song Of My Summer

Petite Meller

My 2016 summer holiday is almost over and, for me, one of the most exciting things about my holidays is realising what has become the “song of my summer” is.

It’s one of those things that just “happens”. There’s a song I discover whilst on vacation and play it over and over and it just sticks.

Last year it was “Last Days Of Dancing” by Maja Francis and that is still one of my favourite and was played numerous times on this latest holiday too.

There have been lots of songs I’ve played many times while enjoying the sun and wine and I will do a post with my top 5 according to my stats but the “song of my summer” has been decided regardless of stats.

When I heard the Lady Gaga was releasing her first new solo song in 3 years during my time away I thought this would be it. I was wrong – I’m not a huge fan of “Perfect Illusion”. Although the the song that actually is “song of my summer” does have a Lady Gaga quality about her i.e. she’s a tad crazy and has a refreshing sound. Lady Gaga has lost those qualities in my opinion and has sold out for commercialism.

What’s the song of my summer? It’s “The Flute” by Petite Meller.

She’s a French singer, a bit crazy and well just watch it and I’m sure I’ll be posting more about her music in the very near future.

  1. It’s catchy. I don’t know that it will be a song I come back to. My summer song this year was “Can’t Fight The Feelin” by Justin Timberlake. Autumn starts this week, and I still like the song!
