Avril Lavigne makes a superb return to music with her new single “Head Above Water”
Avril Lavigne has released her brand new single and video for “Head Above Water”, her first for three years, and a taste of her forthcoming album.
The track is co-written with Travis Clark of US band We The Kings and Stephan Moccio, who also produced the track and is her first single release since “Fly” in 2015. “Head Above Water” is the lead single from her new album, her first since her self-titled 2013 release.
Avril made her striking debut back in 2002 with the single “Complicated” which reached No.2 in the US and No.3 in the UK as well being an enormous hit across the globe. It was taken from her debut album “Let Go” which has gone on to sell over seventeen million copies worldwide, and also included the massive smash hits “Sk8er Boi” and “I’m With You”. Her 2007 single “Girlfriend” topped the charts across America, Australasia and Europe as did the album “The Best Damn Thing”, that it came from.
Avril, who was born in Ontario, Canada, has sold over 90 million records globally and it looks by the strength of this single, as if that’s going to be increased greatly in the coming months!
