I feel so
lucky privileged to have been alive and also remember the time when Freddy Mercury was with us.
I have always been a fan of the music of Queen and Freddy Mercury.
Although I was only 13 when Freddy Mercury died I do remember quite clearly what a unique and incredible showman he was and I knew, even at a young age, that there would NEVER be anyone else as fantastic as he was.
I know all the songs, I love all the videos and I have watched countless documentaries about the band and their story so I simply had to go and watch Bohemian Rhapsody.
I had heard nothing but great reviews about the film so would it live up to my expectations?
Fucking hell yeah!
Rami Malek did more than just play a version of Freddy – he became Freddy and the audience could have quite easily been watching the man himself.
The other actors were amazing too, it was great to see appearances from Aidan Gillen (Queer As Folk) and Aaron McCusker (Shameless) but, Rami or to be more exact ‘Freddy’ was the star of this movie.
There was humour, there was a love story (or two) and there was, of course some, fucking fantastic music.
I don’t usually get emotional over movies but let’s just say at a few points during the film I could feel my nose tingling and my eyes welling. Then, during the last 10 minutes or, so I thought there was something crawling down my cheek. Was it a cinema beastie, was it a rogue piece of popcorn? No!
It was a tear!
This movie had the ultimate climax. An unbelievable treat for the ears, eyes and the heart strings!
The emotions continued so when the lights went up at the end of the movie and we had to leave I couldn’t look at anyone until we were outside and it was dark again. Seriously!
If you are a Queen fan then this movie is a must. If you are not specifically a Queen fan, this movie is also a must!
The music of Queen and Freddy Mercury will always live on!
