NUUXS shares the video for her latest single “Patient’ featuring Zac Pajak.
French-born UK singer-songwriter NUUXS reveals her new single “Patient”, featuring Zac Pajak and taken from her debut mixtape “Red Tape Vol.1”, out now via Goldun Egg.
“Patient” is an incredibly honest examination of relationships and the insecurities that often accompany the highs. NUUXS and Zac’s delicate harmonies combine with beautiful, yet melancholic, strings and piano to mirror the fragility of an early relationship. The refrain of “don’t hate me, don’t hate me. Be patient” reflects the hopeful fear love can create, as the couple battle to conquer their personal insecurities.
NUUXS and Zac Pajak have already combined on penning the mixtape’s 2nd single “Sweet Sunshine”, as well as co-writing Major Lazer’s hit single “Tied Up” featuring Mr Eazi & Raye. This chemistry is immediately apparent in “Patient”, as the two connect both lyrically and musically.
NUUXS’ story is an intriguing one. She grew up in a cult where she was banned from ‘worldly’ activities like listening to music, watching television and reading certain books. Aged 15 she found the strength to escape and began her musical journey, forming an indie-rock band and going on to write hooks for grime artists she went to school with. With a raft of musical influences shaped by her ever-shifting surroundings, she caught the eye of Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, The Libertines and James Bay) at a writing camp and he eventually signed her to his Goldun Egg imprint.
With her songs having already racked up hundreds of thousands of streams, and support from Spotify, KCRW, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, NUUXS continues to cement herself as one of the most exciting and enigmatic emerging talents in Britain.
“Red Tape Vol.1” tracklist:
1. Sweet Sunshine
2. Champagne
3. No Good For Me
