Innovative electro-R&B duo Tropic release their new single and video for “Breathe Again”.
New York electro-R&B duo Tropic premiered the music video for “Breathe Again [Redux]” today with The Young Folks. The music video features breathtaking autumn aesthetics, smokescreens, and the lavish display of singer Jo-B Sebastian’s Mariah Carey-styled vocals.
Shot on location in the untouched forests of upstate New York, the music video for “Bittersweet [Redux]” marks the conclusion to the story we started with their first music video (“Over You”). Directed by filmmaker Evan Carter, and choreographed by New York-based dance, Emily Garcia. The group wanted to continue the dreamlike post-breakup state we captured in the first video. Juxtaposing the urban setting of the previous video with the lush solitude of the forest allowed us to create a surreal audio-visual experience that perfectly mirrors the song.
NY-based duo Tropic is the eclectic fusion of R&B singer/songwriter Jo-B Sebastian and electronic DJ/producer Phuse (Jarel Hill) that creates a nostalgic, yet forward-thinking sound. Their backgrounds are equally as unique as their music, as Jo-B spent two years in Manila performing residencies at the city’s top clubs, as well as appearing on radio and TV. Jarel Hill (Phuse) won Insomniac’s Discovery Project, played at EDC Las Vegas, and appeared on the reality TV dating show Prospects. This year will see Tropic truly push the boundaries, as they will be releasing over 6 different projects in the forms of songs and music videos in the time span of 3 months, following the July release of their debut EP “Bittersweet”.
