Bless The Rains Down In Africa
‘Africa’ is a song recorded by the American band Toto in 1981. The idea behind the song was:
“A white boy is trying to write a song on Africa, but since he’s never been there, he can only tell what he’s seen on TV or remembers in the past.”
The song reached number 3 on the UK singles chart and number 1 on the US billboard charts.
In 2018, after a massive twitter campaign by a fan, American band Weezer covered the song.
I am also assuming this is what inspired them to release the ‘Teal Album’.
Whichever one your prefer there is only one version that will be playing down in Africa for eternity.
What do you think? Did Weezer do a good job?
