FRESH: ‘I Won’t Give Up’ – Milena

Never Give Up!

By Steve McSteveface

Milena, London based singer-songwriter, and piano player, was born and raised in Montenegro.

Coming from a musical and artistic family background, she was destined to sing before she even learned to talk.

She has has just released a new video ‘I Won’t Give Up’ from her current album “Everyday which was filmed in beautiful Montenegro.

‘I Won’t Give Up’ was written by MILENA and produced by Nik Kovacevic. This song is heavily influenced by MILENA’S Montenegrin roots. It’s a modern fusion of Eastern tones and 7/8 rhythm, yet production works very well with fresh electronic sounds.

MILENA is wearing Montenegrin national costume in half of the song and the other half a modern outfit bringing these two times together, it could be a 1500 or 2300 year!

Milena puts the nail in the coffin with powerful native singing , ending the song as it started, with pure elegancy.

Her musical journey started at the age of seven, winning first prize as the best solo singer at the Children’s Festival “Nasa Radost”. Since then, she has participated in many local and European festivals, often winning first prize. She was a main singer and actress in a number of Children’s TV programs, musicals, TV commercials and live children’s shows.

The transition from children’s performances led on to becoming a backing vocalist for major singers and bands, recording regularly in various music studios, and performing at many live gigs.

Nowdays, Milena is performing as a lead singer for various function bands, and jazz ensembles; recording backing vocals for many musicians across the UK, and recording for Buena Vista International, are just some of the many projects she has been involved with.
