US artist Dieter is back after seven years with “Up And Down”!
Dieter is an artist from Madison, Wisconsin who made waves in 2012 with his debut album “I Am A Child”. His unique blend of genres balances with an equally distinct method of integrating vocal production into his songs (think Sufjan Stevens meets Cautious Clay meets Timbaland meets Enya).
“Up and Down” is Dieter’s first release following a seven year hiatus. The single parallels the emotional highs and lows during his time away from music – a time when he experienced both the loss of artistic expression in his life and the personal loss of his father.
“My father passed shortly after the release of my first album and I struggled to process this loss and the resulting lack of music in my life. It took me a long time to come around, but now I see this as another step in my journey. I wrote and produced ‘Up and Down’ when I hit a crossroad in my career; it represents my personal growth as an individual as much as it does my growth as an artist”.
