Sweden’s Hildur Höglind releases “Take Off”.
Swedish singer Hildur Höglind has released her brand new EP “Take Off” from which the title track is the lead single. Hildur’s sound can be described as a mix of indie/alt pop and singer songwriter style. She has been nominated at the seventeenth Independent Music Awards with the EP track “Steal Her Away”.
In 2018 Hildur received a Blekinge Kultur grant, in 2017 the STIM (Swedens Composers International Bureau of Music) grant for her music, in 2016 the royal music academy’s scholarship and in 2012 Lions Youth Music Grant. Hildur has performed all over Sweden in different contexts; at festivals such as Live Green, Karlskrona Skärgårdsfest, Kalmar Stadsfest, live at Heart and Malmöfestivalen, as an opening act for Dan Reed, Lisa Miskowsky, Harpo and Mariette among others, in multiple competitions and other events.
Hildur says that “Take Off” is about wanting to escape your body for one reason or another. Sometimes, I feel like my body is in the way of getting close to someone, or being seen as a person. “Take Off” is about leaving your body and soaring away as just a consciousness. It’s the title track of a (if I may say so) hella cool EP”! It is Hildur’s third EP since her debut “Early” in 2015 and “Poems” in 2018.
