Sonia returns with “A Night That’s Never-Ending”!
It’s hard to believe that it is thirty years since an amazingly bubbly young lady with a huge voice took her debut single “You’ll Never Stop Me Loving You” all the way to Number 1 in the UK singles chart. This was just the start of a career that kept having hit after hit including “Better The Devil You Know” that nearly won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. You know that you have ‘made it’ when French & Saunders actually parody you in a sketch, and you end up as Lily Savage’s daughter on TV! In recent years Sonia has been busy appearing all over the UK at 80’s retro festivals and headlining sold out shows in London, where she treated fans to tracks she had never sung live before.
Energise was to release a single ten years ago called “Fool For Love”, and last year two mythical unreleased songs went to the top of the iTunes Charts. This brand new single was co written by Gordon Pogoda, who has written for Steps and was offered to Sonia by Energise and she immediately said yes to recording it, and the vocals were produced by the veteran producer Pete Ware, with the main production by the amazing Matt Pop. It’s a great uplifting piece of pop music, with a powerhouse vocal and very reminiscent of the hits Sonia is well known for.
