Demon Music Group‘s latest “Gold” release covers the career of 70’s disco icons, Boney M. Boney M. were one of the most successful pop groups of the decade, selling over 100 million Records worldwide and charting three consecutive No.1 albums. With their catchy tunes and flamboyant performances, their worldwide hits are a constant feature at weddings and parties.
The original Boney M. comprised of Liz Mitchell (b.1952), Marcia Barrett (b.1948), Maizie Williams (b.1951) and Bobby Farrell (1949-2010). Farrell left the group in 1981 and was replaced with Reggie Tsiboe (b,1950), who stayed till the group finished in 1986. Boney M. reformed in 1990 and again in 2012, and have played live in recent years at many retro music festivals, much to the appreciation of their legions of followers. The group have achieved chart topping singles all across Europe as well as in Australia and New Zealand.
This 3CD collection is a definitive career spanning set from 1976 through to updated mixes in 2010. Boney M. “Gold” Contains 49 tracks, with a remarkable 15 top 40 UK singles, ten top 10 hits, including their double-million-selling No.1 hits “Rivers Of Babylon”, Brown Girl In The Ring” and “Mary’s Boy Child”, along with other recognisable hits like “Daddy Cool”, “Sunny”, “Ma Baker”, “Rasputin”, “Hooray! CD1 includes all of their hits along with later singles and key album tracks.
