Quiet Cities

FRESH: ‘Get You Alone’ – Quiet Cities

Quiet Cities wants to “Get You Alone”!

Quiet Cities (better known to his friends as Joro Cruz), a singer-songwriter-producer current based in Singapore and “Get You Alone” is his debut single: it’s a a synth-pop/dream-pop track sonically reminiscent of the 80s. It’s focused heavy on synths and the beat, with simple vocals. Early listeners have described the song as ‘chill’, and ‘smooth’, while remaining ‘dance-y’.

Lyrically, the song is about having an attraction to someone, but could never find the opportunity to make a move – because the other person was always with someone else. However, Quiet Cities says it’s up to the listener to interpret if the intent is wholesome (patiently waiting to make a move), or sinister (the lyrics can also be interpreted as from the point of view of a stalker). And see if you can pick out what the person in the cover picture is looking at…(!)
