NAT finds her “Escape” with Jack Merucci
Indie-electronic vocalist NAT continues to establish herself as an essential voice in 2020 on “Escape”, a beautiful new single with colorful, pop-sensible production and a Jack Merucci-assisted duet to match. On the meaning behind the song, NAT explains, “Escape holds a double meaning for me. On surface level, it literally chronicles nights with my girlfriend when we’d decide to escape from a party because we prefer to be with each other sober & alone. The second meaning is more important to me however: I had been caught up in toxic, demeaning relationships, and this new person in my life showed me that I deserved more. She became my escape”.
Reflective of exhilaration and heartbreak alike, NAT has proven herself to be a dynamic talent who traverses diverse subjects and sounds. Continually championing a profound level of honesty with her experiences as an LGBTQ+ individual, past girlfriends and parties hold equal weight in her enthralling songwriting. Her most recent single, “Hold Me Close”, was immediately praised by Girl Underground Music for a sound that “grasps tight onto self-love” and by Son of Marketing as “a colorfully forthright anthem with bittersweet undertones of love and longing”. With a meticulously crafted sound and style making its impact, expect more from NAT throughout 2020 and beyond.
