Anna Belle dreams “Until August”
Anna Belle is a synthpop/R&B artist based in Nashville, TN. Often compared to artists like Kate Bush and Janet Jackson, her artist concept centers on creating all of her content independently including catchy songwriting, analog-esque production, exciting performances, and carefully conceptualized videos. Originally born in Music City, she moved to southwest Missouri as child and grew up teaching herself piano and audio recording.
During high school, she became fully involved in performing arts including choir, musical theatre, and solo work, subsequently moving back to Nashville and establishing music as the focus of her life. Anna Belle has completed a total of 900 commissioned recording projects and also hosts a music livestream show viewed daily by thousands internationally. In 2018, she was featured on the regionally syndicated late night show The Mystery Hour and performed at Playlist Live Orlando 2019. Last April, Anna Belle released her first EP entitled “The Past” along with a self-directed music video which now acts as her flagship demonstration of her artistry, retro, soft, and soulful. She is due to make her first national TV appearance with a major network this year.
She spoke to us recently about “Until August” and how the song came about: “After my university suddenly sent students home due to the pandemic, I wrote this song about being without my best friend until next semester. It took me three weeks to produce, record, and mix, and I made the cover art in my basement using a starter lighting kit and an old bed comforter. I’m in the process of making a fun music video too. It’s the track most characteristic of my artistry that I have put out so far, and I’m so excited for people to hear it”.
