Matteson Gregory is at “War With Myself”
“War With Myself” is singer-songwriter Matteson Gregory’s third single and she is extremely excited about this one because it’s an inspirational song about not giving up on life. Specifically regarding mental illness. Matteson hails from Missouri and spoke to us recentlty about the song.
“‘War With Myself’ is a song I wrote about mental illness. More specifically, a song that I hope will inspire people to break the stigma associated with mental illnesses. I wanted to write a song and release it in May because May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The song is a mix between a ballad and what you could call a Onerepublic vibe. This song is very near and dear to my heart and I hope that it inspires anyone who listens”.
With some of her biggest influences being Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, Matteson will always write with her heart on her sleeve. Since the age of 12 she has been writing songs through her eyes because she truly believes “the best songs come from real-life inspiration”. Matteson is definitely an artist to watch as she works hard to make connections with people everywhere.
