Seeva is “Young”!
“Young” is the lead single from 22-year-old Londoner Seeva’s debut album, “We Need To Talk”, arriving after his “Chapter I” EP, which showcased four songs from the record. “We Need To Talk” is a concept album written in a conversational diary-style, expressing the discussions and ramblings of Seeva through relationships, heartbreakand self-discovery.
As a growing voice in the queer South Asian community, Seeva is using his debut album to beopen and honest about identities and navigating the world with labels that don’t always compliment each other insociety as a gay, HIV+ South Asian man. He takes bedroom-pop and turns the concept on its head with his new song “Young”. Set to a bold electro-popsummer beat that would be at home in festivals and clubs alike, it speaks about empowerment after a break-up and finding independence and youth through freedom.
“Young” leads an album written and produced from his bedroom which takes inspiration from the likes of Years & Years and Troye Sivan. Having started writing music in his teens, he found mentors in producers behind the likes Dua Lipa, Tom Walker and Mabel. He has been supported on Beats 1 Radio, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6 and has been featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ playlist, only continuing the undeniable hype surrounding his 2020 debut long player, to be released on September 4th 2020.
