Elyse Aeryn releases “Salt”
East coast Canadian singer-songwriter Elyse Aeryn has released her first self-produced alt-pop single, “Salt”. Elyse took a traditional career path into chemical engineering before answering her soul’s calling in her late 20s. After releasing a handful of country inspired singles, Aeryn discovered her own sound with Logic Pro X, best defined within the alternative/indie pop space.
Some accolades to date include a spot in the CBC Searchlight 2020 Top 100 and currently a participant in the Jim Beam National Talent Search. “Salt” is the first single from an upcoming five track EP, written and produced by Aeryn on her home island of Cape Breton, NS. The project is a personal reinvention, inspired by coming home, the Atlantic ocean, and a spiritual awakening.
Playing guitar since her teens, Elyse pursued a degree in chemical engineering before rediscovering herself and turning back to music full time. Influenced by timeless artists like Stevie Nicks and contemporary game changers like Maggie Rogers, Elyse is creating a fresh sound for a fresh new chapter. Her three studio singles are available on all streaming platforms and she is currently working on a self-produced folk-pop project scheduled for release in fall 2020.
“Salt” is your end of summer heartbreak anthem. Energetic in its hard hitting drums, yet steady in the bass line, it builds you up then lets you fall, just like a firey summer love. With the vocale ssence of a 90s Natalie Merchant and the fresh alt-pop vibe of Maggie Rogers, “Salt” reminds you of the spark that lit you up and left you burning. But all of the greatest loves are over now, aren’t they?
