Depeche Mode Policy Of Truth

THEN & NOW: ‘Policy Of Truth’ – Depeche Mode

Dutch producer and mixer Eric Lymon is a lifelong Depeche Mode fan, so his latest ‘work’ has been a labour of love for him, working a new version of the group’s much lauded song, “Policy Of Truth”, for the latest cinema adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Poirot novel, ‘Death On The Nile’.

“Policy Of Truth” features on the band’s hugely successful 1990 album, “Violator“, and was released as the third single in the Spring of that year, becoming a hit on both sides of the Atlantic as well as being cited as a standout from the album upon its release.

‘Death On The Nile’ sees Kenneth Brannagh assume the mantle of the Belgium detective in contrast from previous film characterisations of David Suchet and Peter Ustinov. The soundtrack is haunting and so perhaps appropriate that this new version of “Policy Of Truth” is linked with the new production. See what you think…
