Stranded Mermaid get to “Know Ya”
Swedish band Stranded Mermaid formed in 2014 and have been releasing superb, cinematic quality alt-pop tunes, this is exemplified with their new single, “Know Ya”, full of dreamy, atmospheric vibes set against a backdrop of a Western-sounding guitar and an echoing choral vocal arrangement. “Know Ya” is the bands second single of 2020 since their comeback release, “Dust In The Badlands”, their first new music for four years.
Stranded Mermaid say of the new song “‘Know Ya’ is about having a fascination and a specific connection with someone that you really don’t know”. Taking reference from their own favourite artists like Lana del Rey, Lykke Li and Highasakite, Stranded Mermaid (Louise Lindenger – vocals, Håkan Persson – guitar, vocals, Andreas Bohlin – guitar, Gustav Magnusson – bass guitar, Jacob Larsson – drums and Victor Lange – percussion) carve a highly individual place for themselves with their very unique approach to music, instrumentation and concept.
