The Eli Lillies release “Christmas Is The Season Of Love”
UK band The Eli Lillies have chosen to release their debut single at Christmas time! “Christmas Is The Season Of Love” is an anti-pill shaming indie romp which advocates seeking support and treatment if your brain does not produce enough neuro transmitters on its own. A demo of the song was included in a Christmas Podcast by comedian Mitch Benn a few years ago and now the Cambridge based five piece have formally recorded it in the hope it will deliver its message to anyone who needs it.
The Eli Lillies are Louise Eatock, Matt Newman, Toby Balson, Sophie Gregory and Krysia Newman. Louise and Matt both played in different bands but had been talking about recording “Christmas Is The Season Of Love”, written ten years ago. In October, Louise wrote a new verse for 2020 and booked a studio (Blue Barn, near Ely). On 1st November 2020, the band got together and finally recorded the song. The single has been mastered by Chris Pavey Mastering.
