FRESH: ‘I Missed That Train’ – James Stephen

James Stephen says “I Missed That Train”

North West UK based singer and songwriter James Stephen releases his final new song of 2020 today, “I Missed That Train”, the follow up to “Until You”, a deeply personal Country style guitar ballad featuring James’ striking and powerful vocals as he reflects on missed opportunities, but also the realisation that not all opportunities are good, and not all missed opportunities are final. The song will feature on his upcoming EP, “Til It Comes Around Again…”.

James, together with his band mates Danny Addison (lead guitar and backing vocals), Mike Gardner (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Matt Sanderson (drums), have been performing for around five years and released their debut EP, “Patchwork”, in 2016. James and the boys spent most of 2019 writing new music and released the gorgeous “Washed Away” earlier this year, their first new music of 2020. “I Missed That Train” was recorded at Mike’s home studio, Bungalow Digital, with backing vocals recorded across the USA. It was recorded and produced by Mike Gardner and mastered by Greg Chiche.

James tells us: “The whole recording of the single at Mike’s home studio was rather ridiculous, actually. We had to “dampen” the room to trackthe vocals, which consisted of hanging any and all coats, jackets, scarves, etc. from anything we could, including a green screen, the PA system and a lacrosse stick!”. That’s lockdown music for you! spend some time this festive season and escape the trauma’s of real life with James and the band with this beautiful collection of great British, American sounding Blues-Country-Folk songs any time of the day or night.
