SPOTLIGHT: Sweettalker

Nashville indie faves

Infectious music, fun live streams, and all-around good vibes!

Sweettalker has spent the past several years touring all over the Southeast and Midwest US since debuting their first few singles, having played along side Jason Isbell, Devon Gilfillian, Ron Gallo, and Kendell Marvel.

During this time, they garnered attention from multiple industry publications including Highlight Magazine, Under The Gun Review, and American Songwriter being cited as energetic, riffy, and highly entertaining.

In 2019, the group turned their attention to the studio, working with producer Matt Goldman to create an impressive and ambitious debut EP. “We took our time and we were patient with ourselves. It’s our first EP, so we wanted to make sure we got it right.” says Brown.

On the heels of appearances at multiple world-wide live-stream festivals such as Keep The Music Playing Fest (with Jason Isbell, Ron Gallo, Keb Mo, Devon Gilfillian and more) and Chronic Relief 2020, Sweettalker released their latest EP, Paradise, in September.

Swirling harmonies, groovy riffs, horns, and string ensembles all contribute to an EP as dynamic as the genre of Rock n’ Roll itself.

Sweettalker – tell us more about what you’ve been up to…

Although releasing new music during a pandemic isn’t ideal for most artists, Sweettalker has won over brands, fans, and media with their infectious music, fun live streams, and all around good vibes. So much so that Sweettalker’s two previous music videos have each broken 100,000+ views on Facebook.

Since releasing the initial few singles off of the EP, they have been featured in the esteemed American Songwriter and radio station Lightning 100 (Four-time Best Adult Album Alternative (AAA) Station).

Paradise was produced and mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Matt Goldman and co-produced by Joel Parks. The EP was truly an act of indie love and was self-funded by the band, taking around two years to complete.

Sweettalker make several nods to their eclectic list of influences throughout Paradise including such artists as Kacey Musgraves, Bruno Mars, and ELO to name a few.
