British band DiMaggio Jones have just released an ‘outtake’ from their ten track 2020 album, “Lonely Boys Mixtape”, “Flesh And Bone”, closing off that chapter before releasing new music in 2021.
“Flesh And Bone” is a down-tempo, dream pop tune with passionate lyrics against a synth-guitar backing track that gives it that retro feel to it.
The previously unreleased track explores relationships between people from two different worlds who collide, fall in love and then realise that they’re completely different people. Make sure you check out the Sheffield-based group’s debut long player that brings together all of their single releases from their debut track, “T-Shirt”, released in 2019.
The boys – Joe Devlin, Joe Flynn, Hugh Boyd and Ethan Holmes – took their name from Devlin’s father’s band in the 70’s and 80’s from the NY Yankees baseball player, Joe DiMaggio (also referenced in Madonna’s “Vogue” ‘rap’!) Mixing electro pop and indie vibes, the boys are all multi instrumentalists, ’80s radio pop, atmospheric synths and guitars, and soaring vocals from lead singer Joe Flynn.
