FRESH: ‘White Wine’ – Cyrano

Cyrano opens his bottle of “White Wine”

Alt-Pop

Scottish born, London based singer and songwriter James Vettese has launched his music career under the name of Cyrano and he’s ‘opened’ with a bottle of “White Wine”.

The track crosses so many different music genres. There’s a bit of pop in there, some jazz and plenty of percussion and acoustics together with Cyrano’s whisper-quiet vocals.

“White Wine” is a track celebrating the friendships he made while recording in Los Angeles one Summer, inspired by Arthur Russell, Frank Ocean and Jai Paul. It’s an ode to fleeting moments with consequential strangers, remembering those spontaneous hours of connection with people who enter your life at just the right moment.

The track features Nilüfer Yanya’s Jazzi Bobbi and has already been premiered on Jess Iszatt’s BBC Introducing show ahead of its release. Alongside a UK tour with Leif Erikson, 2021 will see an exciting and diverse range of material to follow, including Cyrano’s debut EP, “Consolations”.

Cyrano – a la Cyrano de Bergerac – takes the lead on vocals, while playing Rhodes to his MPC beats. Cyrano says of the inspitation for the track: “There’s something quite alluring about the early hours; the ambience and tranquillity provides a soft focus, away from the modern-day distractions of the world’s routine. I’m forever chasing the hours of night when time becomes elastic and I lose myself in the space of sound”.
