The song, “This Is It”, was originally recorded by Melba Moore in 1976
Disco classic “This Is It” was written by Van McCoy (1940-1979) for American singer and later actress Melba Moore (b.1945) and recorded for her fifth studio album of the same name. It was released as the lead single in March 1976 and reached No.9 in the UK, although the song fared less well in her home country. managing only No.91. It did, however, peak at No.2 on the US dance chart.
The song was covered by Dannii Minogue for her second album and was released in July 1993 as the third single that preceded the album. Her version made No.10 in the UK and No.13 in her home country of Australia. The video featured her then boyfriend and fellow Home And Away star Julian McMahon, whom she would marry the following year.
