LA based singer Kylie Rothfield returns for 2021 with her stunning, anthemic new single, “Everyone Else”, understated and sublime, this is outstanding pop music at its very best.
With a growing, pulsing beat coupled with Kylie’s sincere and beautiful vocals, “Everyone Else” builds on last year’s single, “Too Late”, as Kylie makes a full on return with new music.
“Everyone Else” is about growing up always feeling like you’re different and not on the same path or wavelength as everybody else. Kylie wrote the song after co-writing another song with none other than Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Shane McAnally and Ester Dean, then decided to produce the track sing herself in her bedroom with a friend.
Kylie made her debut back in 2015 with “Like You Should” and has since released half a dozen tracks, all of them individually crafted to perfection. And even if it takes her a long time to write, record and release, you know that each new song will be a moment to set time aside and dedicate to Kylie’s raw and latent talent. “Everyone Else” is that moment and it is a truly special song that deserves to be heard and loved, both in equal measure. It captured me on first listen!
And as a bonus, Kylie tells us it was completed somewhere very special: “This single was recorded in lockdown, so basically my spare bedroom, however, we did have a chance to get into Johnny Depp’s studio in the Hollywood Hills to finish it off, mix and master it!”.
