Belinda Carlisle wants to “Get Together”
Country-Pop/Rock
80’s icon and talkaboutpopmusic.com favourite, Belinda Carlisle, has recorded a new version of The Youngblood’s 1966 track, “Get Together”, one for National Record Day and two, for a new, short compilation of classic album tracks.
Titled “Nobody Owns Me”, a song from her 1987 album “Heaven On Earth”, the nine track vinyl also features songs from 1989’s “Runaway Horses“, 1991’s “Live Your Life Be Free” and 1993’s “Real”.
Belinda has worked with songwriter and performer Gabe Lopez on this brand new recording, which takes a Country-soft rock approach, fairly similar to “Little Black Book”, which is featured on the album, but much more grittier and slower. It marks Belinda’s first recorded material since “Sun” back in 2013. “Get Together” was recorded and produced by Gabe in July this year (2021) in Los Angeles and continues their long association, especially for anyone that’s seen Belinda live in recent years and will know Gabe always supports and opens her shows.
“Get Together” and the album, “Nobody Owns Me”, have also been released as Belinda prepares to embark on her Decades world tour over the coming twelve months, after an enforced hiatus from live performing and follows her most recent tours celebrating the 30th anniversaries of “Heaven On Earth” in 2017 and “Runaway Horses” in 2019. “Nobody Owns Me” is available to purchase on 180g white vinyl by clicking this link and you can download “Get Together” on streaming services now.
