The music of Stock Aitken Waterman really caught fire in 1987 and they bagged the year’s biggest seller with newcomer Rick Astley‘s debut single, which topped the chart for five weeks in August/September.
The American’s were still a big hit in 1987 with Whitney Houston, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley and Starship all taking the top spot here – proving nothing was gonna stop em now or ever!
The Brits dominated the latter half of 1987 with Shrewsbury band T’Pau topping the lot for five weeks in November and December, while the Bee Gees made their own chart return with a month long stay at the top before them.
