THEN & NOW: Gloria Gaynor

Fifty seven years ago, Gloria Gaynor (b.1943) released her debut single, “She’ll Be Sorry”. It took another nine years before ‘she’ reached the big time with her version of The Jacksons’ “Never Can Say Goodbye“, which went top ten on both sides of the Atlantic. After a few lesser loved hits, Gloria made her return to the disco floor in 1978 with “I Will Survive”, her signature tune.

Now a decade on from her last release, Gloria has teamed up with a modern day Disco queen, Kylie Minogue, for the track, “Can’t Stop Writing Songs About You”, recorded for Kylie’s expanded “Disco: Guest List Edition” album in 2021. The official video to the song has just been released and shows Gloria in perfect tone and style as she ‘rocks out’ with Kylie on the funky, Disco-infused track and clearly loving every second of it!
