Madonna has released a slightly remixed new version of her 1985 hit, “Into The Groove”, as the first cut from her forthcoming remix greatest hits album, “Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones”, celebrating FIFTY number ones on the US Club Chart, which began with “Holiday” in 1984 to her most recent, “I Don’t Search I Find”, in 2020.
“Into The Groove” was her fourth to hit the top spot on the Club chart in July 1985 and would become her first to reach number one on the UK singles chart, although it was not commercially released in America. The song also topped the charts in Australia and across most of mainland Europe as the fourth to be taken from her album, “Like A Virgin“.
The track is an edit of the eight minute plus version that featured on her 1987 remix album, “You Can Dance”, and is accompanied with a new video featuring a montage of previous Madonna classic images, most notably from “Erotica”, “Like A Prayer”, “Beautiful Stranger” and “Hung Up”. The original “You Can Dance” album sold over five million copies worldwide covering all her dance hits up to that point as well as the new track, “Spotlight”.
